Call for Abstracts


Invitation to submit abstracts is now open

The Organising Committee invites the submission of original works for consideration as an oral or poster presentation at the 6th Australian Primary Liver Cancer Forum. Abstract submission is open to clinical and basic liver cancer researchers working in the field of liver cancer.


The below presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts.

 

  1. Oral Presentation: 10 minute talk, followed by a 5 minute question and answer.
  2. Oral Poster: Comprising a poster and 3 minute talk.
  3. Poster Focus Session


All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and accepted at the discretion of the Organising Committee, Limited Travel Grants to support presenting Students and Early Career Researcher authors are available, please indicate on the abstract submission form if you would like to be considered.

 

Prizes will be awarded for the best oral and poster presentations during the Meeting’s Closing Remarks.

Abstract Guidelines

All abstracts must constitute original work. The presenting author is required to register for the event to guarantee inclusion of their abstract(s) in the final program. The deadline for presenting author registration will be communicated in the acceptance letter. All submissions must adhere to the format provided in the attached template.

 

  • Acceptance of AI-generated content is permitted. However, it is imperative to disclose this fact at the conclusion of the abstract body.
  • The body of the abstract must not exceed 300 words.
  • Do not include graphical images.
  • Abstracts must be typed in Arial font, size 12pt, and single line spacing.
  • Affiliation details are required for the presenting author only.
  • Each abstract may have only one presenting author.
  • Presenting authors can submit an unlimited number of abstracts for presentation.
  • Abstracts will be accepted in English only.
  • The Organising Committee anticipate that selected abstracts for presentation will be presented by the presenting author, and submitted abstracts are expected not to be withdrawn.

Themes

  • Basic clinical aspects of HCC (changing epidemiology, aetiological associations, screening and surveillance, changing guidelines, role of multidisciplinary teams)
  • Contemporary HCC management and controversies (emerging therapies, new IO data, combining IO with locoregional therapies, broadening transplant indications, treatment beyond progression)
  • Translational HCC research (link between clinical and scientific aspects  with a focus on Data, biobanks, safety of biopsy)
  • Discovery Research 1 (The HCC microenvironment, laboratory models of HCC, drug screening, new targets)
  • Discovery Research 2 (Genomic research, new biomarkers )
